I have a confession to make. I copy and pasted almost this entire post from another post I wrote just over a year ago when people were shouting from their rooftops that the rapture was about to happen because Russia invaded Ukraine.
You’re misleading people. The Bible does talk about Russia and Ukraine and ethnos against ethnos and about all of these signs and prophecies that are going to be fulfilled before the rapture takes place.
I am not. The Bible does about Russia or Ukraine anywhere not least of all because they didn’t exist 2,000 years ago. Neither does it talk about the rapture which didn’t exist in Christian theology before the 19th century.
The Bible does talk about the rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4: 17 where it says “then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together” which in a Greek bible would say harpazo and in the Latin bible would say rapturos which translates to rapture.
Paul is talking about the second coming. No one in the history of the church talked about or even conceived of the rapture before John Nelson Darby invented a 2 stage return of Jesus in the mid 19th century.
… and you were just confronted with an accurate, historical fact. It was a concept invented by Darby. It is not a scriptural fact. You are misreading all of the verses you have cited.
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

The New Commandment
7Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 9Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. 11But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12I am writing to you, little children,
because your sins are forgiven for his name’s sake.
13I am writing to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I am writing to you, young men,
because you have overcome the evil one.
I write to you, children,
because you know the Father.
14I write to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
because you are strong,
and the word of God abides in you,
and you have overcome the evil one.
Do Not Love the World
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Warning Concerning Antichrists
18Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. 20But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. 21I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. 24Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.
26I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
Children of God
28And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. 29If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
God Bless You, may you let The Holy Spirit to open your eyes. To dismiss truth is to actively dismiss God, for God is Truth. Then you teach others in your denial. Repent and be forgiven or face trial.
Luke 12:58 ESV
As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison.
Whenever God calls you out, repent or be cast into hell. God is in control, if he says to be happy because of what he did for us, it's not a suggestion. Be careful teaching others things you know nothing about. Have a good rest of your eternity, hope to see you in heaven.
and as Azrael; Caught Up, and descending with Jesus is written cleary in scripture. 2 CORINTHIANS 12: 1-10
Paul’s Visions and His Thorn
1I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. 3And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— 4and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. 5On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses— 6though if I should wish to boast, I would not be a fool, for I would be speaking the truth; but I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me. 7So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The Lord Answers Job
1Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:
2“Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Dress for action like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
4“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
5Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
6On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
7when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8“Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
9when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
11and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?
12“Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
and caused the dawn to know its place,
13that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth,
and the wicked be shaken out of it?
14It is changed like clay under the seal,
and its features stand out like a garment.
15From the wicked their light is withheld,
and their uplifted arm is broken.
16“Have you entered into the springs of the sea,
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17Have the gates of death been revealed to you,
or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth?
Declare, if you know all this.

and where is the place of darkness,
20that you may take it to its territory
and that you may discern the paths to its home?

and the number of your days is great!

or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23which I have reserved for the time of trouble,
for the day of battle and war?
24What is the way to the place where the light is distributed,
or where the east wind is scattered upon the earth?

and a way for the thunderbolt,
26to bring rain on a land where no man is,
on the desert in which there is no man,
27to satisfy the waste and desolate land,

Rapture is derived from Middle French rapture, via the Medieval Latin raptura ("seizure, kidnapping"), which derives from the Latin raptus ("a carrying off").
Our theology must never be built on one verse, nor any verse taken out of context. In this case, being "caught up ... to meet the Lord in the air", has a whole NT background with other details given by Messiah Yeshua and his apostles & teaching elders, especially about the parousia of Yeshua, the resurrection, and his coming salvation & judgement. I do not know of any instance where Paul differs with the Pharisaic & Gospel/apostolic view of a general resurrection, although saints & the ungodly are differentiated. The dispensational interpretation of being "caught up" and separating the Church of Christ from the Israel of God is a modern peculiar innovation, and in my opinion, a sad distortion of Yeshua's professed redemption project to reconstitute Israel on his 12 apostles, proclaim his kingdom in all the world (cf. Ps 2, 110), making disciples of all nations, baptising & teaching in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, to the end of the age (Matt.28). The new age, including resurrection & judgement, begins at the parousia. This is the clear teaching of the NT put altogether, and the historic interpretation of the churches through the ages, until the rise of Dispensationalism.
Also I wanted to add that the pre trib rapture theory originated with a Jesuit priest named Father Francisco Ribera in the 1500s. And if you think Jesuit priests can be trusted you need to do some research on them!
