Delightful! Laser-focused contempt for bullshit, I am so proud to have been allowed to read this— and wish it could be preached in every evangelical ( including Nazarenes) pulpit AS WRITTEN!
But, that’ll happen when bullshit tastes like honey.
I'm so sick of the bullshit. If it wasn't for people like you that call it out for what it is- I would have left all semblance of faith a long time ago.
"The kind of faith that is actually Christ-like, that rejects power, stands with the oppressed, embraces the marginalized, empowers the weak, and blesses the poor"
I think Jesus set the precedent for 'shit' wit. When he told the parable of the unproductive fig tree in the vineyard. A barbed message versus the Pharisees complete with the phrase 'throw some manure at it (them)'. As one 19th century English commentator put it 'This is not the language you expect of a religious teacher'. How delightfully very English!
Find Augustine’s quote strange considering the fact that he interpreted the judgement passages in such a way that makes God look like a complete monster! As opposed to the early Greek Fathers who got it right!
Yes I wondered at that. I know he talked about a heremeneutic of love but like you say, he wasn't a shrinking violet when it came to judgement unless we're conflating him with another church father... Comments Zack?

Yes. This.

Why, then, can't we include the unborn?
